Arguably the best holiday that’s not a holiday. Hands down. In the midst of being Nicki Minaj and Black Swan, a side of me was presented which could be comparable to Nicki’s alter ego, Roman, or the Black Swan herself. In response to this post, I want to defend myself and say that I’m not a cold-hearted bitch. Sure, that was a really bitchy thing of me to do but (and this is going to sound cliche) it is not reflective of who I am. Anyone who truly knows me will know that I am not like that on a regular basis. Maybe it was fueled due to mother nature, out of spite, jealousy… I can name a few reasons. But anywho, I fucked up and I acknowledge the fact that there isn’t anything I can do to patch it up. I’m actually sorry.

Probably the second time in my life I’ve actually felt truly sorry for some spur of the moment dumb decision I made. So much for maturity. Cheers to being 22.

#7 BSCB.

If you guys keep up with my current favourite blog of the moment, Betches Love This, you’d know what a BSCB is aka the “bat shit crazy betch” aka the Token Crazy Friend. Everyone knows I’m crazy. From the the stalkage to the creeping, even to the crazy revenge I have on people, people are smart enough to not mess with me. And lately I’ve been regarded as “psychotic”. Uh, no one needed to tell me that.

Please let me introduce Exhibit A. Yes, my latest flavour of the month week. I’ll take any criticism that it was a bad idea to keep hanging out with this guy even though it was strictly platonic but hey, I was trying to avoid burning bridges. But I pulled a number today that possessed the power of engulfing the fucking Lions Gate Bridge and some. This guy had a girlfriend in Japan, continued to see me, and, well, it just didn’t sit well with me. So I tweeted her and told her what’s up and well, now they are now dunzo. I know. Mean Girls shit right there. And I mean, I do feel a little bad (or maybe not super bad since I’m blogging about it) but, hey, you can’t just do that shit and get away with it. Atleast not with me.

And the moral of the story is why you just don’t fucking mess with me. The end.

One of my very good friends, Cookie, goes to UViC and since I was craving for a mini getaway, I thought “Why not go visit her in Victoria?”. So I managed to persuade my friend Mimi (it wasn’t hard at all) to come with and, well, what do you know, it’s the old 2011 Harrison Hot Springs crew aka we knew were gonna wreck havoc. All in all, it was a quick but great trip spent with two of my favourite ladies. Double decker busses, mi goreng x 7, chocolate-covered polvoron, the only time we were happy to see Applebee’s, QUIDDITCH, 9one9, noodle time, pho times, Red Fish Blue Fish’s spot prawn mayo, KETCHUPY, carbicide, girl talk boy talk, “wever”, Mimi’s possessed face… Good times, girls! Until the next mi goreng party.

Please vote for me!?

It’s like I’m running for a presedential election. Not really.
Notable AwardsDon’t forget to please vote for me in the 2011 Notable Awards! Voting ends on Halloween. Thanks again for all of your support!

More exciting news!

And to continue with yesterday’s post, here’s what else I’ve been doing but with my cupcake company, Dolce Delights!

Young Women in Business (YWiB) SFU Launch Party

YWiB SFUAs a proud member of YWiB SFU, I was completely thrilled when they contacted me to partner up for the 2011 launch party. Sadly, I wasn’t even there! I heard it was a blast, however, and the cupcakes were gone within minutes. Looked like a super fun event though!

Invito Couture Grand Reopening Party

Dolce Delights at Invito Couture Grand ReopeningAnother event that I sadly had to have missed. Invito Couture, a store selling beautiful gowns and cocktail dresses imported from Turkey, recently moved to a bigger and better (and more suitable) location on South Granville. The night was filled with wine and cupcakes — match made in heaven.

SFU Student Entrepreneur of the Year 2011

SFU Student Entrepreneur of the YearSEY. Okay, this is actually something I have been waiting for since last year. The name’s pretty self-explanatory. Hesitant to compete last year, I felt that I was ready for the competition this time around. Currently in the preliminary rounds, I’ll get to know if I made the second phase by Halloween. Crossing fingers. It’s kind of a really big deal and I am so excited to be taking part in this!

The 2011 Notable Awards

2011 Notable Awards Now this one came as a complete surprise to me. I noticed an ad in the Metro paper last week that nominations were ending for the Notable Awards. What’s that? It’s basically an award that recognizes up-and-coming young professionals in various categories all across Canada. I had nothing to lose… and guess what… I MADE IT IN THE TOP 10 IN THE LIFESTYLE SERVICES CATEGORY! What the HELL. Pretty exciting news. Big deal? Kinda. I’m up against two Food Network chefs (OMG CHUCK HUGHES!!!) and local foodies, Erin Ireland and Gourmet Fury! Finalists go to Toronto nexts month for the actual awards ceremony. Please vote for me?!

And that’s, that! Some sweet news may materialize within the next week or so. God. I love being 22.

What’s up, doc?

Here’s a look at my last couple months of being 21 (aka what I’ve been up to lately). This is so long overdue. Prepare yourselves for a super picture heavy blog post!

SASSquatch 2011
So, after a long couple months of intense planning, the newly founded Society of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS) put on a very successful and first ever, Arts Frosh aka SASSquatch 2011! We were nearly sold out with 130 froshees and a solid team of team leaders, coordinators, and culinary team. It was a multiday event at Camp Howdy near White Pine Beach filled with initation, toga parties, activities, late night dance parties, wrestling matches, skits, rain, and ultimately, bonding time! I had such a blast! Finally got my “frosh” experience at SFU. Yay!

Ashoka’s Be a Changemaker Challenge
AshokaAs I was a past participant in Young Women in Business’ (YWiB) Project GIVE, a program that introduced me to the concept of social entrepreneurship, I knew I had to check out this free bootcamp and get my #socent juices going again. This event was exclusive to UBC and SFU students and sold out days before. It was both eye-opening and inspiring; really made me consider if our old group wanted to pursue our old social enterprise project, Day in the Life, a program designed to connect youth in highschools with professionals in their dream job.

Red Bull Thre3style

My friend B works at Red Bull and I was her plus one at this event. The Red Bull Thre3style is a DJ competition that occurs throughout North America (westcoast, eastcoast, etc.) that highlights that region’s best DJs. Hedspin won — Vancouver represent! Can’t wait til the finals which happen later next month at the Commodore. Stoked.

Graffiti Party

Graffiti PartyFollowing our success with SASSquatch, SASS put on yet another nearly sold out event — Graffiti Party! This event took place at SFU’S Highland Pub (newly refurbished and renovated) and it was honestly so much fun! First doodle/graffiti party I’ve been oo… reminds me of the highschool days! Ironically, wearing my white private school dress shirt too… haha. Good times!

Today is my birthday. I’m 22 now. I would just like to thank everybody who has made this day special for me. I have personally thanked everybody on my Facebook  as well as in Twitter, text messages, emails, and phone calls. I am now up $70 in additional charges for texting. Thanks! But no, seriously. One of the warmest birthdays I’ve felt in a very long time. Thank you!
