Despite all the technical difficulties we had prior to the show, I have got to say that Cavalia was absolutely amazing and worth every penny. I am still unsure if there was an actual “storyline” to it, but what really struck me was the beautiful relationship the acrobats had with the horses. They really had a connection and it was strongly present throughout the show. It was awesome — Cirque du Soleil with horses, or so I’ve been told. Still haven’t seen Cirque but if it’s anything like what I saw today, then I MUST see Cirque du Soleil O next month when I’m in Vegas. Amazing!
I also did the Sun Run earlier this morning as well and it was pretty much my first Vancouver Sun Run ever. I mean, I did it back when I was 14 and walked it with my cadets friends but meh, that didn’t really count. Ran the whole thing straight. Finished at 1:09:16 — can’t wait to see the actual time in the paper tomorrow
Update: Finished at 57:00 minutes flat, placing 8449th out of 50 000+ people! Not bad!
May Long Weekend is right around the corner and what better way to spend it is to spend the weekend in Las Vegas with my girls. I’ll be 21 and legal this time around and will be partying all weekend long with the JetSetCrew. Lavo, Tao Beach, Tao Nightclub, Marquee, and XS. Holla! Still trying to see if we can fit Cirque du Soleil: O in as well. It’s going to be one hell of a weekend. Stoked.
Can’t wait til this month ends. Or, better yet, til this semester ends. Got so many things to look forward to starting in April!
Cavalia. I’m going to be honest: I’m not entirely sure what this show is about. All I know is that it involves horses, operates under the same company as Cirque du Soleil, and is under those big white tents at the Olympic Village. Going with gym guy. Should be a good show either or.
Will Rogers Follies. Not going to lie, I have no idea what this is about either. It’s being put on by the Royal City Musical Theatre Company which produces local shows and musicals right by my house at Massey Theatre. It’s a tradition for my mom and I to go to whatever musical is being put on. Apparently the show is a 6 time Tony Awards winner and 3 time Drama Desk winner as well. Stoked! Love supporting local.
Hairspray. Love the music from this show and the movie was alright…but it’s finally coming to Vancouver! Showing at The Stanley Theatre in South Granville starting in May, I’m taking my mom to this show for her birthday. Super stoked for this! I just know I’ll be singing along.
So March… will ya hurry up, please?!
