As I stepped out of my house today in a dress and flip flops and I stopped completely in my tracks. The scent in the air was different. The temperature had dropped dramatically. It was official. Summer was over. No more chilled riesling on the patio or mango coconut drinks at Richmond Night Market. No more flirty dresses or shirts that I could pull off as dresses. Sigh. The time has come for me to put pants on.
Sad? Sure, but I had such a great summer and an even better start to the fall season that I can’t help but be ecstatic for the things to come! And I do apologize for the lack of posts this summer. You can blame it on the fact that 1) it was my first summer in a relationship again after four years, yippee!, 2) the files for all my pictures over the summer took so damn long to upload onto Flickr and 3) I never have access to my laptop anymore (time to go Mac?) aka I’m never at home. So… I give you yet another major catch up post WITH PICTURES, hooray! First, a few things that I wanted to write on but never got a chance:
1) Warrior Dash! I SURVIVED (just like my t-shirt and medal say)! My time was 52:11:20 so I did achieve my goal of finishing under an hour, woot! The obstacles were a lot easier than I thought (think giant adult jungle gym) but the uphill killed me (why am I doing this again!?). But it was so disorganized, specifically the transportation, that I’m not sure if I would do this again. I’m thinking of perhaps doing Tough Mudder next year….but we’ll see.
2) Nicki Minaj! I really meant to write a post on this. As a big Nicki fan, I was pretty disappointed in this show. As her first tour headlining, I was expecting her to perform a TON of her songs but no, what we got was her DJ playing a number of her songs while she changed her wardrobe. Good performance nonetheless.
3) ….there was something else but I seemed to have forgotten again. Oops.
And now pictures! How did I spend the latter end of my summer? By going to lots of wooded and watering areas in this beautiful province of British Columbia because I couldn’t get time off work and couldn’t afford a vacation! Hurrah! Places I went to? Davidson’s Pool in Maple Ridge, my house in Harrison Hot Springs, and the Okanagan (Vernon, Lake Country, and Westbank).
Sigh. Just looking at these photos makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Oh summer, until next year. Bring on the fall.
‘Bout time I got some new workout music! Sick album — lots of pop and house influence, little bit of MIA, and lots of great collaborations. Beez in the Trap, Automatic, Whip It, Sex in the Lounge, and I am Your Leader amongst my faves. Love Nicki Minaj!!!
Y’all know how much I take Halloween seriously. I love dressing up and making costumes. I provided a couple teaser photos of my two costumes in yesterday’s post (Nicki Minaj and Black Swan), but here are a few more, full-length shots!

Black Swan at a random SFU house party
Can’t wait til next year! Gotta out-do myself again… gets harder every year!
Arguably the best holiday that’s not a holiday. Hands down. In the midst of being Nicki Minaj and Black Swan, a side of me was presented which could be comparable to Nicki’s alter ego, Roman, or the Black Swan herself. In response to this post, I want to defend myself and say that I’m not a cold-hearted bitch. Sure, that was a really bitchy thing of me to do but (and this is going to sound cliche) it is not reflective of who I am. Anyone who truly knows me will know that I am not like that on a regular basis. Maybe it was fueled due to mother nature, out of spite, jealousy… I can name a few reasons. But anywho, I fucked up and I acknowledge the fact that there isn’t anything I can do to patch it up. I’m actually sorry.
Probably the second time in my life I’ve actually felt truly sorry for some spur of the moment dumb decision I made. So much for maturity. Cheers to being 22.
Wow, what a stellar show. Nicki Minaj was amazing as usual. I’m just so choked I couldn’t get the shirt I wanted (again!). Love her. Brit Brit put on an outstanding show but performance-wise? Not so much. I’m pretty sure she lipsynced everything but s’all good! It was quite the spectacle. Tons of wardrobe changes, trapdoors, fireworks, flying Britney, on-stage lapdance… yup, definitely got all the aspects of a suhweet show. I actually found myself to be 10x more excited than I thought I would be. Sweet seats, good company, and a killer costume. Couldn’t have asked for a better night!

Ahhhhhh can’t wait for New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys next week! These past two weeks are practically my 90s dreams come true. LOVE.
I saw Nicki Minaj just 1.5 weeks ago with Lil Wayne. And I just bought tickets to her show with Britney Spears later this summer. But guess what!? Just found out that Nicki Minaj will be performing at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens on May 21st aka WHEN I’LL BE IN VEGAS and like 5 minutes away from Caesar’s Palace where I’m staying. Meant to be? I think so. Hells to the fucking yes. I’ll be missing out on Tao that night but who cares, Nicki Minaj for $20!?!? Fuck yeah. Can’t wait to see her again!!!
Who just scored tickets to Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj: Femme Fatale Tour on July 1st at Rogers Arena!!? Oh, right. ME! Killed my credit card again and opted for lower bowl > floor. I know floor is great and all but I’m a shorty and I won’t be able to see anything. Now… two important questions to ask. 1) Which costume should I construct and wear for the concert? and 2) Which good friend of mine should I take with me? Choices, choices… As for costumes, I’m thinking:
Classic I’m a Slave For You Britney. Typical, but the easiest to make. Yes?
