…and I’m off again.

This time? Whistler. Squeezing in the last bit of summer and getting away for a girl’s weekend filled with wine, spa, and sun. See you next week!

Saying farewell to summer.

As I stepped out of my house today in a dress and flip flops and I stopped completely in my tracks. The scent in the air was different. The temperature had dropped dramatically. It was official. Summer was overNo more chilled riesling on the patio or mango coconut drinks at Richmond Night Market. No more flirty dresses or shirts that I could pull off as dresses. Sigh. The time has come for me to put pants on.

Sad? Sure, but I had such a great summer and an even better start to the fall season that I can’t help but be ecstatic for the things to come! And I do apologize for the lack of posts this summer. You can blame it on the fact that 1) it was my first summer in a relationship again after four years, yippee!, 2) the files for all my pictures over the summer took so damn long to upload onto Flickr and 3) I never have access to my laptop anymore (time to go Mac?) aka I’m never at home. So… I give you yet another major catch up post WITH PICTURES, hooray! First, a few things that I wanted to write on but never got a chance:
Warrior Dash 2012
1) Warrior Dash! I SURVIVED (just like my t-shirt and medal say)! My time was 52:11:20 so I did achieve my goal of finishing under an hour, woot! The obstacles were a lot easier than I thought (think giant adult jungle gym) but the uphill killed me (why am I doing this again!?). But it was so disorganized, specifically the transportation, that I’m not sure if I would do this again. I’m thinking of perhaps doing Tough Mudder next year….but we’ll see.

2) Nicki Minaj! I really meant to write a post on this. As a big Nicki fan, I was pretty disappointed in this show. As her first tour headlining, I was expecting her to perform a TON of her songs but no, what we got was her DJ playing a number of her songs while she changed her wardrobe. Good performance nonetheless.

3) ….there was something else but I seemed to have forgotten again. Oops.

And now pictures! How did I spend the latter end of my summer? By going to lots of wooded and watering areas in this beautiful province of British Columbia because I couldn’t get time off work and couldn’t afford a vacation! Hurrah! Places I went to? Davidson’s Pool in Maple Ridge,  my house in Harrison Hot Springs, and the Okanagan (Vernon, Lake Country, and Westbank).

PNE!

So I FINALLY managed to make it out to the PNE tonight. Sorry, but I have been suffering from major mini donut withdrawal since last summer so obviously, I had to make it out atleast once. I ended up going with gym guy, because, well, he’s pretty much my unofficial old boyfriend. Not even lying. He even won me a mini pink Domo-kun! So cute. Yeah, definitely nostalgic. Felt like I was in highschool all over again…especially with a ton of people from my highschool being there tonight. Weird. Anyways, four bags of mini donuts, one giant mac ‘n cheese hot dog, two deep fried pop tarts, a large thing of lemonade, and 2398253983043 calories later, I can now say with confidence that summer is over. Sigh. Goodbye summer, hello fall!

Last weekend of summer.

Normally, I would think of Labour Day Long Weekend as the official last weekend of summer, but considering how craptastic the weather has been lately and the fact that thiscoming weekend is completely booked with my friend’s wedding and an epic bake sale, I pretty much envisaged last weekend as my last. I actually drove up to my house in Harrison Hot Springs with a couple of girlfriends and I’ve gotta say, that was probably one of the best times in Harrison ever! The weather absolutely gorgeous and to prove it, I have a funky ass tan on my right shoulder. Only my right shoulder. F. It was a pretty chillin’ time with tons of inside jokes and, of course, drankz. Half a bottle of Proprietor’s Reserve rose, four 6-packs of beer (Becks, MGD, Granville Island, Heineken), Palm Bay, and two pitchers of sangria. Not bad between three tiny little Asian girls. Never gonna forget watching Mean Girls four times, Mi Goreng, “slaves and sexuality”, late night eats, Layback Lounge, poutine fail, stars, party boat with uglies, super cold water, dying fish, yellow/green ball thing, super long walk home, and girl talk. LOVE IT. To new and old friends!

Me, Mimi, and CookieThanks for such a memorable weekend, girls! Can’t wait til next year. Until then, peace out summer. It was a short one.

Summer’s finally here!

Yesterday was the first real day of summer. And what better way to start off the summer than with sangria, BBQ, and good company on the patio?
Ceci, Ivan, MeIt was my friend, Ivan’s, birthday yesterday so we all went to his place for some drankz and some homemade terimayo Japadog! Quite the step up from last summer since I went to zero BBQs all last year… Hey, I was out of town for literally half of the summer!
JapadogThen went to Joey’s on Robson for some more drankz and to meet up with my BFF and friends before the Bruno Mars concert.
Ceci and meStopped by PiVo and then finally… Bruno Mars! Yay!

Bruno MarsOverall, it was a short concert. Janelle Monae was the opener and was pretty entertaining but total buzzkill… Bruno Mars was amazing as expected. What a voice! Short concert though… forgot he only had one album. Eh, something to do on a Friday night. Here’s to summer!!!
